The world of online dating can be pretty cut-throat. You can be the best looking person in the world but if the first photo on your dating profile is pixelated or far away or poorly-lit, rapid-swiping thumbs will swipe on by.
If you only have photos with your mates, no one wants to play detective to figure out which one is you. If you only have one photo, others may think you're a catfish. If all your photos are selfies from identical angles, people might start to wonder if you're even 3D. I repeat: first impressions are everything.

FAQs
I'm worried about not looking genuine because my photos weren't taken with a smartphone.
The aim is to capture you in your natural state. I'm not about the catfish look! You can always mix your professional images with photos of you and your friends to add some variety.
Do I need a range of different photos to portray different parts of my life on my profile?
If you had an allowance of 6 images on your profile, I would suggest one headshot to show your face clearly, one shot further away (full length or cut off at the waist), one shot of you doing something you love (sport or hobby), one lifestyle shot (e.g. in a cafe, travelling or with friends), and the rest can be anything!
Do you do video?
I know Hinge allows you to add a short video, which is a great way to spice up your profile. I can include some video footage in your shoot without it looking too staged or over-professional, at no extra charge.
Will you take photos of me doing a sport or hobby?
Sure! If your sport or hobby needs to take place in a particular location, we can use that space to capture you doing what you love before or after taking your other portraits. Most of my portraits have a very blurred background with the focus is solely on you, so we don't need to be too picky about what the location looks like for the rest of the shots.
I'm nervous and feel uncomfortable in front of a camera! Will I be good at this?
All you need to do is be yourself, and I'll help you do that as much as I can. You don't need any previous experience of being in front of a camera, and you don't need to try hard - see it as us just hanging out! I usually start off in a cafe, and we can chill out and chat over a coffee (and also get a few snaps) - that usually helps to relax people. I get told a lot that I make people feel comfortable during a shoot, so that's nice to know!
